RODEO EVENTS
BARREL RACING

Fastest time wins
-
Run a cloverleaf pattern starting with either barrel right or left first
-
5-Second Penalty for every down barrel
-
One/Horse rider combo
-
Time starts and stops when the horse's nose crosses the timer line

BAREBACK RIDING
-
Must ride one-handed for 8 seconds to receive a score
-
Highest score wins
-
The score is based on 50 off the horse and 50 off
the rider
-
The feet of the rider must be on point of the shoulder when the animal’s front feet hit the ground leaving the chute
-
Can not touch the horse with freehand

BREAKAWAY ROPING

10-Second time penalty for broken barrier

BULL RIDING

Must ride one-handed with bull rope, for 8 seconds

Highest score wins

The score is 50 off of the bull and 50 off the rider

Can not touch bull with freehand

GOAT TYING

Fastest time wins
-
Horse and rider pass starting line, rider dismounts
-
catches goat, secures 3 legs ending the event.

POLE BENDING

Fastest time wins

Serpentine through a set of six poles

Start on either left or right side
-
Time starts and ends when the horses nose crosses the timer line

5-Second penalty for every downed pole

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Must ride one-handed, with riding rein for 8 seconds
to receive score

RIBBON ROPING

Mixed Event–meaning a one boy one girl team

One is mounted on horseback, one is on the ground
(the runner)

The contestant on horseback calls for the calf, time
starts here
-
Ropes the calf and then gets off to help steady the calf
-
The runner approaches and tries to take the ribbon from the calf’s tail
-
Once the ribbon is in hand the runner goes back to the designated finish line for time completion
